Tongkat Ali Extract Reviews

Tongkat Ali Benefits and Uses

Tongkat Ali (also known as Malaysian Ginseng) is a tree found in the forested areas of Southeast Asia. Long used traditionally, the root of the Tongkat Ali plant has become increasingly sought after in modern times for its unique libido, virility and confidence enhancing effects and for its potentially improving both fertility and athletic performance. Our Tongkat Ali extract is among the most potent, high grade, efficacious standardized phytochemical extracts of the root available worldwide (as hinted at by its intensely bitter flavor!)

Research suggests that Tongkat Ali may be effective in improving fertility by boosting testosterone levels and increasing sperm concentration in men. Furthermore, some clinical research suggests that taking Tongkat Ali supplements orally, may also improve general mood states and enhance athletic performance.

In a 2013 study published in the journal of International Society of Sports Nutrition, supplementation with 200mg/day of Tongkat Ali resulted in improved stress hormone profiles and overall improved mood states.

The group of compounds called Quassinoids are particularly important to the quality and benefits of Tongkat Ali. The most interesting and well-researched is Eurycomanone, which is also the most abundant quassinoid in E. longifolia. Almost all of the physiological benefits associated with Tongkat Ali are thought to be related to this compound and its metabolites. That's why it is so important to ensure that you have a high-quality, standardized extract with a high % of Eurycomanone.

Tongkat Ali is known by a number of alternative names including:

Long Jack

Eurycoma longifolia

Payung Ali

Malaysian Ginseng

Ali's Walking Stick

Pasak Bumi

Scientific Consensus:

Tongkat Ali is a herbal supplement taken commonly for its perceived effect in boosting testosterone and improving mood. Currently, there is limited research to supports the benefit of enhancing athletic performance.

Tongkat Ali is possibly safe when taken orally at a standard dose of between 200mg – 400mg/day. Negative effects of larger-than-recommended servings may include insomnia, headaches, irritability, racing heart, heart palpitations, and restlessness.

Special Warning: There is insufficient research to support the use of Tongkat Ali supplementation during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of Tongkat Ali should, therefore, be avoided if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
