Beta-Glucans (β-Glucans) are a type of polysaccharide that are found in the cell walls of bacteria, yeast, and fungi. The source of the Beta-Glucan is significant for its structure and properties. Yeast β-Glucans have the molecular structure of a long chain β -1,6 branched β-1,3 -glucan – significantly different to β-Glucans found in bacteria, cereals, or mushrooms.

Numerous scientific studies indicate that consumption of Yeast Beta Glucan (β-Glucans) has immune-supportive properties through its actions in the gut.

One of its main components, yeast beta-glucan, has been found to modulate the body’s immune response by stimulating the growth of macrophages. These are white blood cells that are the first-in-line to respond to infection and injury and attach all types of antigens (non-specific immunity).

Yeast Beta Glucan (β-Glucans) may also offer immune support by improving intestinal health. In fact, one of its constituents, Mannan-Oligo-Saccharide (MOS) may protect the gut from harmful microbes through its ability to bind and expel pathogenic bacteria via the digestive tract.
