Kanna XK6 Extract powder is a powerful mood-support supplement derived from the African succulent, Sceletium tortusum. XK6 extract contains generous concentrations of alkaloids, with an emphasis on a relatively higher proportion of Mesembrenone content in the alkaloid mix, and so tends to emphasize more of the warm, cozy, tranquil, relaxing, calming, and empathetic mood aspects of Kanna's effects.

Description

Kanna XK6 Extract Powder Benefits and Uses

Kanna powder extracts can offer an energized and elevated, yet also tranquil and empathetic mood and state of mind, acting as a mild stress-reducing supplement. Some people use Kanna extract for cognition and focus.

Our XK6 Kanna Extract is produced using special strains of Kanna with distinct alkaloid ratios, and standardized for higher Mesembrenone content, thus yielding a mellower, gentler, more balanced and relaxing, calming experience.

XK6 tends to emphasize the warm, cozy, tranquil, relaxing, and empathetic mood and state of mind aspects of Kanna's effects, (more so than extracts focused on higher mesembrine content specs, which tend to be more energizing, but in excess can also feel edgy).  Mesembrenone may also have cognition and memory supporting activity.

Kanna extracts contain several important alkaloids. For purposes of nomenclature, scientists have bestowed the best known of the Kanna-derived alkaloids with the prefix: “mesembr-”. The most important alkaloids include:

  • Mesembrine
  • Mesembrenone
  • delta-7 Mesembrenone
  • Mesembrenol
  • Mesembranol

Kanna Extract powder is known by a number of alternative names, including:

  • Sceletium tortuosum
  • Mesembryanthemum tortuosum
  • Channa
  • Kougoed
  • Mesmebrine
  • Mesembrenone
  • Mesembryanthemaceae
  • S.tortuosum
  • XK6 Extract
  • XK5 Extract
  • VU3 Extract
  • Sceletium

Scientific Consensus

An extremely long history of use suggests that using the fermented plant is safe and effective, but does not provide absolute proof. Further, very few studies have been conducted using a strong Kanna Extract powder. More research is needed to fully understand the significance of the benefits and adverse effects of this supplement. There is not enough research about the safety of Kanna Extract powder for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
