Green Coffee Extract
Green Coffee extract is an ethyl acetate extraction of unroasted, decaffeinated dried berries (beans) of the *Caffea canephora* tree. The primary active constituents of Green Coffee extract are similar to the chemical makeup of standard coffee, but have a higher concentration of Chlorogenic acids due to their relatively-low solubility in water. Chlorogenic acids are powerful antioxidants, and may have similar properties as the active components of Olive Leaf Extract. Green Coffee extract is thought to have a beneficial effect on blood sugar and blood pressure, though the exact mechanisms are not known. Chlorogenic acids metabolize into ferulic acid, another potent antioxidant.
