Oblate discs are made from a potato-like starch and are used extensively in Japanese Dageshi candies, to prevent the candies from sticking together. Originally named "Oblaat", this transparent, tasteless edible film was first developed in the 19th century by a Dutch pharmaceutical company to allow sick persons to consume foul-tasting medicines easily.

Description

Oblates are discs or cones of very thin, edible film made from a special type of potato starch, a bit like edible rice paper or Nori seaweed sheets

Oblates are useful edible wrappers, as an alternative to capsules, to enclose strong tasting powders so that they can be easily consumed.

Ingredients: Potato Starch (non-GMO), Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil), Soybean Lecithin / Product of Japan.

These Oblate discs have a convenient cone pouch/funnel shape.
